I did order a gordita was cold the pastor look like the day before, the meat looks dry, i got a torta the bread was burned they make me another one and again they did it wrong missing stuff on the torta, at the end we like too try the plátanos burned too bad experience and some of the workers was rude,
Very nice experience. The food and drinks came out very quickly. And our horchatas were brought out with chips and salsa. Everything was of high quality and tasted great. Although somewhat lacking in atmosphere (but who cares for a quick eat taqueria, right?) the place was very clean.
Consistently amazing food and this bowl of Birria was $14. I’ve been coming here for at least three years and it’s my favorite spot by far. Way better than any other place
Not bad.
For 15$ after tax I got the quesotaco's.
It's a small amount of food for the price, but at the same time it is very heavy, cheese, meat and grilled tortillas.
The tacos were birria, beef not goat. The flavor of the birria spices were not very strong, but overall had a good flavor.
The main problem just was the consome, which was very watery.
They gave me a giant thing of it, but had very little flavor, it was just making my tacos wet instead of adding delicious flavor.
I would love to see just 10% of that, but much much thicker.
There red salsa was very spicy, wish I woulda used that instead of the consome. It was spicy, but good.
It might be a small thing, but I REALLY appreciate the paper bags for take out. I hope more food places can incorporate this so we can protect our environment.
Food and service were excellent as well!
What a real gem we have here in Vancouver. Fresh food with an amazing staff, and plenty of authentic Mexican offerings on the menu. From birria to frescas, the food is beyond great. Flavors and freshness in check, and the staff is more than helpful when you're not sure about a menu item. Great value, too, as prices don't break the bank. Overall, a great place to check out for any time of the day and you will be served quickly. Rapido!
Truth be known, I'm not a huge fan of Tex/Mex Americanized food. Los Alambres did not change my mind.
I ordered the iconic signature dish, the Alambres. I also ordered the horchata as my drink.
I've never eaten an Alambres before but this meal was served with 9 soft 🌽 corn tortillas. Alambres is meat fried with peppers and onions and covered with cheese. The flavor was just OK, not bad but not great. Not spicy but there are several sauces that are available to kick up the heat. The overwhelming negative to this and most Tex/Mex foods , IN MY OPINION, is the greasiness.......and unfortunately Alambres was no exception. I'm home as I write this and it feels like a lead weight sitting in my gut. I've got the gut rumble happening as I write this. Uh oh. The meat itself had too much grease and with cheese melted over the top of the meat, the grease factor was over the top.
The horchata rice drink was tasty but too sweet. I've had horchata several times before both in America and all over Mexico . The flavor was definitely good but again just too sweet.
Los Alambres service was excellent...you order at the counter, pay , and then they bring your food to the table. Food was brought to the table promptly.
Price was reasonable.
Easy access off of Mill Plain with plenty of parking.
Ambiance is strip mall basic and functional.
Handicap ♿️ doable.
Final take....just OK if you are a fan of Tex/Mex food.
Mexico City native here! 🙋🏻♂️
The two items we tried (huarache and sopes) were not Mexico city style, Both items were missing crema Mexicana, lettuce, and the cheese on the sope. Plus they added cilantro, which is not Mexico City style for this two items.
Sope was a good size and ok value. @$7.00
Huarache was small for the classic size of a huarache, @ $15.00 , not a great value.
Tacos del barrio were good, although the asada meat didn't taste fresh and was overcooked.
We for sure come back and try other items and will update the experience.
